I became a therapist after volunteering for Barnados for a number of years. I worked on a number of projects within Barnados including inclusion projects for young people with learning disabilities, family liaison, independent visitor for looked after children and being an advocate.
After working in a women's centre for 12 years, the majority of my clients experienced low self esteem and confidence, anxiety and depression. I have worked with a wide range of people and problems including anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder/ manic depression, obsessive thoughts and behaviours, bereavement and complicated grief, relationships, sexual and psychological abuse, relationships and family issues, trauma and dissociation.
I also work in two senior schools working with male and female students and adapt my approach to fit with the specific needs of young people. I hold an Enhanced Certificate with the Disclosure and Barring Service.
My private practice work takes place in Allerton, South Liverpool.
